PresidentClaudia Dzierbicki // c.dzierbicki @ gmail.com

Claudia has been dancing off and on her entire life. Throughout her childhood she attended a wide range of dance classes including Ballroom, Jazz, Latin and Hip hop and developed a love of dancing very early on in life. More than anything she enjoys just feeling the rhythm of the music and forgetting herself in the beautiful world of dance. Having put off dancing in lieu of academic pursuits for longer than she would have liked, she has finally rediscovered it, and at no better place than UTDC!

Vice PresidentAdrienne Yang // adrienne.yang @ utoronto.ca

Since her first dance classes at the tender age of eight, Adrienne Yang has gained considerable experience in hip hop, contact, Chinese, and modern dance styles. In particular, she has developed an unmistakable passion for contemporary and lyrical dance, stemming from experiences as a dancer with the Toronto Chinese Dance Company and as Head of Dance at Havergal College. Adrienne’s forte is choreography, having choreographed multiple works for a dance prayers, Chinese New Year celebrations, end-of-year show at her high school, as well as a UTDC Hip Hop piece for the U of T Festival of Dance with Denny.

TreasurerChristina Sugiharto // tina.sugiharto @ gmail.com

Christina began dancing when she was in elementary school. She started with a traditional Indonesian dance and continued on with ballet until she was fourteen years old. She took a break from dancing during her high school years and her first year of university, only to begin again in her second year after a suggestion from a close friend. Since then, she has been in love with salsa! Christina had a blast in UTDC’s Latino II class with JP and Pilates-Ballet with Melanie in September 2008, spurring her to join as a supervisor. She has since continued, and now teaches Salsa Beginner and Salsa Intermediate classes.

SecretaryHelen Su // su.helen @ gmail.com
|
During her elementary school years, Helen did ballet and Chinese cultural dance in Taiwan as a weekly social activity. Later, she was fortunate enough to participate as a Chinese cultural dancer at various cultural events during her stay in Hungary. In her spare time, she taught herself dance routines at home. Helen’s first official dance classes began with UTDC in September 2009, when she found out about the club through a friend. She took a Hip Hop class with Denny and found that she really enjoyed learning his routines and dancing in a group setting. Helen is always motivated to learn more dances, and aspires to free style with confidence. Meanwhile, she really enjoys the time spent dancing with others. Her only regret is not finding out about UTDC earlier!
